 Throughout history, female writers have been shunned, ridiculed, and erased from the narrative of literature. It wasn’t until the 19th century until women could even publish under their own name. Since then, literature has exploded with unapologetically feminine discourse, and has given us an insight into the world that we were not previously exposed to. Not long after, women filmmakers came into the mix, bringing a new medium of expression. Female artists have been bold, radical, and passionate in their works with none taken for granted. In this blog, I will be sharing my thoughts on female artists and their works, how their lives reflect in their stories, and talk about the context of the writing.
